Kick-Off Event The kick-off event for the Antigo Public Library Foundation's fundraiser on Sunday, April 22, was a huge success. The silent auctions of gift baskets and exquisite chocolate desserts yielded nearly $3,800. In addition, many guests made cash donations that day. This amount was matched with up to $1,600 from Thrivent Financial, so our grand total for the day exceeded $8,000! |
Since Then... Our goal for the Temptations & Sweet Dreams Fundraiser is $50,000. We began with an initial gift from the Andy L. and Leone Sheldon Charitable Trust in the amount of $10,000. To this, George Shiinners generously donated another $10,000. Our community of individuals and businesses have given very generously to raise another $25,000! |

To date, then, we have raised $45,000 toward our goal of $50,000! There are three goals for this fundraiser, and we have fully attained two of them. One of the primary goals of this fundraiser was to purchase a new outreach van for the library. This was accomplished in November of 2007, with the acquisition of a Chrysler Town & Country van. American Graphic Solutions then created the graphics for the van, and we were ready to hit the road. |
| One of the events that afternoon was a contest for those with a strong sweet tooth. Entrants competed in three different categories of chocolate desserts. A panel of judges determined the winners in the following categories: Infinite Intensity, Breathtaking Beauty, and Newsworthy Notable. All entrant desserts were then sold in the silent auction. | ![]() |

Our second goal was to pay for the new security system in the library. The system of cameras and software has made our building and its contents far more secure. The final goal was to enable the library to build up its collection of materials. Many of the library's books are more than 20 years old, and the funds made available from the Foundation have allowed the library to buy much more current materials than would have been possible within the existing budget. |
| The winners of the chocolate dessert categories were: | We have only another $5,000 left to achieve our final goal, collection development! And we are very grateful to all the generous people in and around Langlade County. Thank you for making this possible! | |
