Community Quilting Bee

Community Quilting Bee. The last Wednesday of each month @ 1PM in the McGinley room.

Community Quilting Bee

The community quilting bee is programming for both new and experienced quilters. It is for traditional, modern, improv and art quilters. For those who have quilted for years or those who have always wanted to quilt and haven’t gotten around to it just yet.

All ages are welcome and the sewing portion of the programming is aimed at adults, teens, and ages eight (8) – twelve (12) years and older with a caregiver accompanying them. We will have plain cut squares and fabric markers for younger participants and those who want to participate and do not want to sew or embroider.

The library will provide the following: two Brother’s sewing machines, an iron, fabric scraps and a traditional square pattern for those who like a pattern. We have embroidery supplies. Fabric glue. Safety pins. Basic quilting supplies – no rotary cutter. We will have two cutting mats and fabric scissors. Those who prefer a rotary cutter may bring their own. Participants are welcome to bring their own sewing machines and any other tools they wish to use.

Program time is 1PM- 2PM in the McGinley room. Art Club meets in the room at 2PM allowing participants to continue working until 3PM as there is plenty of space for both groups to work.
